Pediatric Orthopaedic

CURE performs thousands of pediatric orthopedic procedures annually. In addition, because we are a tertiary referral center meaning patients are referred to us with complex musculoskeletal conditions both countrywide and beyond our borders. We are a leading children’s hospital in minimally invasive surgery and the management of complex foot problems such as club feet, bow legs, and knocking knees among others. We also offer, and undertake, more standard procedures and services.

Spine Services

The neck is located between the head and the shoulders. Because of its location and range-of-motion, it is often left unprotected and subject to injury.Neck pain and back pain can result from many different causes–from injury, to age-related disorders, or inflammatory disease.

Causes of neck and back pain and problems may include the following:

  • Injury (damage to the muscles, tendons, and/or ligaments)
  • Herniated cervical disk
  • Arthritis (i.e., osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Disk degeneration
  • Congenital (present at birth) abnormalities of the vertebrae and bones

Foot, Ankle, Wrist and Elbow Services

The foot, elbow and ankle are vital joints that make locomotion and aesthetics possible in humans. Since these joints are frequently used, they usually suffer wear and tear which results to excruciating pain when moving around.

We have built a robust footprint in Kenya as a center of excellence in joints management and surgery. Our call of duty is to make sure your joints are in top notch condition by working closely with our physiotherapists.

Knee and Hip Services

Advances in knee surgery, particularly through arthroscopy, have virtually eliminated in-patient treatment and have significantly reduced recovery time. Patient recovery time has been accelerated in other important ways, by emphasizing pre-surgery patient education and reducing post-surgery use of casts, splints, and crutches.

Shoulder and Arthroscopy

The shoulder is one of the most flexible joints and, therefore, is prone to injury. Most shoulder pain occurs when soft tissues are injured or overused. Soft tissues refer primarily to the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Pain in the shoulder may manifest in other parts of the body, such as the elbow or neck. Since most of the physicians at A.I.C CURE International Hospital have expertise in this field of study, pediatric patients brought to us have the guarantee of getting one of the best pediatric orthopedic services in Kenya.
