Roselyne is a fourteen-year-old girl who is the eighth and last-born daughter of Jackton. Roselyn was born normal, but at the age of two years, when she started walking, the father saw something that unsettled him. His daughter’s legs had started bowing around the knees. It is something that happened very gradually and it got worse as Roselyne grew older.

Eleven years later, Jackton, Roselyne’s dad decided to take his daughter to a hospital. Seeing as he does not work, he did not have the amount of money that was being asked for to treat Roselyne. They went back home disappointed and discouraged.

A few years later a friend of Jackton, gave him a referral to a CURE Kenya mobile clinic in Kisumu.  Jackton’s major concern was money, so he was a bit hesitant to commit himself to bring his daughter to the clinic. But after some convincing, he made his way to Jaramogi Oginga dOing Teaching and Referral Hospital and saw CURE doctors. Surgery was discussed as the best way to treat Roselyne’s deformity. Roselyne now joins a long waiting list and is counting on you to help her receive the surgery she needs to have a normal life. “If the doctors can help me, I will be grateful!” Jackton told us.
